I have won a Meet & Greet for the Metallica show in London and I'm thinking about getting a cymbal signed by the band, then framing it along with the pictures of me with each band member.

Has anyone ever got a cymbal signed? What was used to sign it and how did it turn out? I want to make sure that the signatures don't smear or wear off over time.

If anyone has any suggestions about the best way to do this, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
those guys will probably charge ya to sign it. Im sure a sharpie would work just fine.
Say what you will about Metallica, but they are better to their fans than most of the bands out there. No band I can think of shows more of the day-to-day going ons of the band more than Metallica (tour site which posts setlists, videos, etc. from each show; studio site which provided updates and videos from the recording session). I won the meet & greet through the fan club (they do this for 30 fan club members each show, so you are pretty much guaranteed to meet the band... instead of having to wait outside after the show hoping to be able to meet them.)

Any other suggestions about the cymbal (not about Metallica, because, really, I don't care what people think about my choice of favourite bands - that also goes the other way for Metallica fans talking shit about The Hip.)
That's cool you get to do the meet and greet. The Buffalo show was top notch, better than I could have imagined, almost went deaf at the start of One...too bad it is not available for download like 98 percent of their shows. Oh well.
The Buffalo show was amazing. Out of the 4 shows that I've seen this tour, that was probably the best setlist so far. I was really looking forward to downloading that show, but I guess it's not going to happen.

I wonder if The Hip will run into the same kind of problems with venues/unions charging too much money to record the show that it wouldn't be feasible to record and release it?
You lucky bastard! :thumb:
