hey...I am taking some friends to see the hip in grand rapids in a couple of weeks. I, like all of you, love the hip. However I was hoping to educate my friends on the hip BEFORE the show. Do any of you know of any links to sites that would give me a history of the band. What I am really interesed in is the story behind some of his songs. Their lyrics are poetic and abstract sometimes making it difficult for some to relate to the songs. But if I can give my friends some history behind the songs, it may help...I know taking them to the show will blow them away...but this too may help...so if you could post some useful information...i would greatly appreciate it...thanks :thumb:

Many of the songs on the site have notes or *ahem...* full explanations written by good looking guys from Ottawa.
Yeah, Henhouse and PP and IVL all had song stories on the album sites...if you can find them. Haven't been to the Hip's page in a while so I don't know if they're still linked, but there's an "old site" still around they never took down with all the album and song details.

Now that you mention it, that PP site was great, and it is still around... somebody posted the link on the newsgroup a couple of months ago, might be worth a google search.
