I hear you about the Metallica songs. I wasn't a fan at all until the first time I saw them in 89. It was the Justice tour, and "The Cult" were opening...the only reason I was going to the concert. The Cult were good, but talk about a terrible match of bands. Metallica took the stage and i was completely blown away. I was expecting it to be garbage, but it was phenominal...I was instantly a huge fan. Creeping Death, Master Of puppets, and Seek & Destroy all stood out as exceptional live songs. Yeah, 16,000+ people chanting "Die, die, die!" and pumping their fists in the air, certainly has an affect on a person. I've seen them twice since, but that Justice show always has a certain sweet spot in me.

From seeing the Hip, I'd say MERIDIAN and BLOW and GRACE, TOO.
I haven't seen too many other big name acts. I enjoyed "Down at the Khyber" by JPE, and "Paint it Black" and "Start Me Up" were fantastic :thumb:

seeing Fiona Apple sing an acapella jazz tune, blew me away..i just wish i could remember the name of it...goin to california is simply spine chilling, and i always get off on Grace too...

I didnt realise it was 2 years old...its still pathetic though. I hope the suit got tossed from court for being frivilous and stupid, which it is.
I second the White Stripes rendition of Death Letter. That song is mindblowing live. Other White Stripes songs/covers are equally mindblowing live too including The Nurse, Jack The Ripper and Let's Build A Home/Going Back to Memphis
