If anyone's interested, I posted some hi-res pics from the Fox Theater show in Detroit (09.18.04) online. There's a few of Sam Roberts and the rest are The Hip. I've only posted about half of them, so check back over the weekend to see the entire collection of over 150 shots.
If you're so inclined, you can leave comments regarding each individual pic and the comments can be viewed by future visitors. I put significant effort into finding the right pic-hosting site and I'm very impressed with the functionality and features. I wanted to share them with everyone and make them accessible to fans that aren't yet using BT or ftp clients.
I hope you enjoy them and feel free to let me know what you think. You can view the gallery

Does anyone know the older man in the crowd? I noticed him from my seat. He was totally dressed to the nines with a bow tie on and seemed very into the show. (one of the last few shots)

The guy's got one of the greatest jobs in the world; he's an usher at the Fox! Believe it or not, this is one of my favorites. I was taking a quick look around to check out the crowd and I saw him standing there with that priceless look on his face...the kind a six year-old gets on Christmas morning...and
had to snap the shot. It was one of those in-the-moment / once-in-a-lifetime chances to capture the true essence of the awesome nature of a Hip show.
Okay, so it was a Fox Usher who was off for the night? He wasn't working that night...in fact, I saw a girl go over and ask him if heworked there and he shook his head no and pointed to the actual working usher.
I thought maybe a season ticket holder who goes to everything...he was jamming on the show...head bobbing...it was refreshing to see...I love the shot!!
Very nice shots Scott.
Can I ask what camera you were using. I have a little Nikon Digital Coolpix 4300 which takes some great shots at concerts but only if you are really close and you use the lights from the show (much like you did).
I have some shots from both the Detroit and Cleveland shows that I am still prepping for uploading. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to share them with the world....ok at least other Basers!
Nice job! Amazing pics, Scott.

A Canon Powershot A80 (4 MP) with the stock 3x digital zoom lens (left the optic zoom off to preserve resolution) and a 256 MB card. I used the flash on most of them & played around a bit with the settings at various points in the show. The backlighting on the stage made it difficult to shoot well-lit faces, but made for some awesome "effects". It's not the best camera on the market but it's pretty simple to use and has a variety of stock & customizable settings.
Basically, I got lucky as hell 'cause for the most part I just held it high, pointed it towards the action as best I could, and snapped shots hoping the camera caught what my eyes were focused on. I was hoping a few came out good and didn't realize what I had until I got 'em on the PC. I took 227 shots and a brief Sam Roberts video-clip. 164 came out good enough to share. I should have the rest of them up by tomorrow evening.
Thanks to all for the positive comments; I'm glad I was finally able to contribute something in return for the great boots I've picked up over the last few years and the awesome DVDs of late.

Do you mean you went with the stock 3x
optical zoom lens (left the
digital zoom off to preserve resolution)?
Or am I misreading your post? Either way, as we discussed, the pics look great, can't wait to use 'em!

Thanks Scott for replying. It is good to know that a simple 4mb digital camera can capture some of the candid action. I didn't get half as many as you did but I did get some good ones that I am hoping to have available real soon.
If I can't get them up on the site, then have a look out for them on the Detroit DVD!
Very nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.

You are correct, sir! :nooooo I should really pay more attention to what I say...er...type; that's twice in a week that I've slipped into mental dyslexia and posted reverse thoughts. At least my spill chucker works.
