Lowest of the low are going to have their own tour! Their new CD kicks, and so will the shows. I'm sure they're doing a across canada tour or maybe just Toronto out east.

Come on man, that's pretty out of line. I was actually going to make a comment a while ago about how Pmackie was jumped on by a few here about not doing a search. The thread that he "should have searched for" was on page 2 and thus not easily visable, and he/she doesn't seem to be a regular here. Instead of welcoming him and carrying on with his thread, or even better, ignoring it, he was jumped on. Now after all the drama you are name calling and pulling rank?? This isn't high school here, we are adults, right?

I asked Baker who's opening for them while in Philly on Sunday night. He said no one is booked yet and he then asked me who I thought should open. I suggested Spades and he said they weren't ready to be an opening act yet. So nothing confirmed as of yet everyone.
next person who talks to the Hip during the US tour offer this suggestion for the opening act of the Canadian tour.....NO ONE!! It's all cool that they give a chance to new up and comers, but let's face it, if I had the choice between a 45 minute set of some no-name band or an extra 45 minutes added to an already short Hip set, what do you think I would take. I know guys like Sam Roberts got their big break for opening for the Hip, but either they have to play longer sets for the Canadian tour, or drop the opening act...

I'm glad that Robby said the Spades aren't ready yet. I know other people on here like the band but I would much rather Matt Mays or the Sadies or someone like that. Nobody even knows who the Spades are outside of Ontario and the hipbase forum. I'd take Hayden over the Spades.
This thread was only mildly tense the last time I checked it. Then I came back and people were jumping down each other's throats. Why does it matter so much? I have once screwed up and posted a new thread that had once been discussed. Someone pointd that out to me and that was the end. No problem. Why did people suddenly throw their defences up on this one? It's really not a big deal. I'm fairly new here, we make mistakes and other people show us that. Big deal.

Oooohhhhh Hayden would be awesome!!! BUT... no go, I heard he was touring on his own in November
There's a great local band in St. Catharines called Synapse. They have only played local shows but the guitarist is stellar. They'd be game for opening the Toronto show I'm sure, but of course, they are almost entirely unknown.
