sorry to burst your bubble, but the Hip have never done "the Bear" live.

Never live but they have done it in a soundcheck, twice for that matter.
Check out this link from Rory's old page. It is out there and recorded.

Gord ranted this part of The Bear between Poets and Courage at the Woodstock show.
The following is my transcription:
[Poets winds down]
... women gotta make by swimming ...
swim ... not to me ... not to him ... swim
Remember, I'm right behind you
... I'm following you
[unintelligible]
They wanna suck the marrow from your bones
They let you swim uncontested
Cross the lake and the river frozen
I lay down, I continued my hibernation
When I woke up, much to my surprise
I learned that there was no game
No prey, no conquest of any kind
I was so hungry, going out of my mind
I could, I could smell ya
I could smell the bellows from your tent
By the time I saw your flame
It was over for you and whathisname
[Poets ends]
And I knew they would come
They docked their boats; they cocked their guns
And I said, "The time for reconcilation is done."
And they said ...
And I said with my belly full, I intended to get something done.
Courage!
[Courage starts]
I think it was Algonquin Park,
CT
