Just got back from the Sarah Harmer show tonight...
if you havent seen her, you should try... she is utterly amazing!! her voice is so perfect live, it's unbelievable!!!!

Also... Josh Ritter opened up, and he is great. Someone to look out for, For sure!!

I echo the sentiment that you really should see Sarah Harmer live (if Weeping Tile still existed I would recommend seeing them live too, but alas).
I had the good fortune of seeing her a number of times in Kingston and once a couple of years ago in T.O.
My wife and I picked Open Window from "You Were Here" as the first dance at our wedding.
I always gush when I talk about Sarah/Tile,

Sarah did play Lodestar which was flawless... also played Open Window and Dandelions and Bullet Holes (which she called the 'matriarch of the new album")
She did a cover of "The Beast in Me" and also played her outtake "Oleander"... at this point the band had left the stage for a while and she was left on her own
:thumb: I waited around afterwards to meet her when she came outside and she is very approachable, stopped for photos and stuff :jump
josh ritter is fantastic!! His set was beautiful and many ppl rushed to the lobby to pick up "hello starling". At one point, he stepped away from the mic, walked to the front of the stage and played a song purely accoustic and let his voice naturally carry throughout Massey... it was gorgeous!!!
I don't know much about Ritter. I do know how great Harmer is though. I saw her a few years ago in Summerside. Her voice is an amazing instrument on its own. The songs sounded so great live! She definitely is a VERY TALENTED GIRL! Best songwriter in the country according to Gordo. haha
What time did Ritter get on stage?
Can't wait for the show on Thursday. 2 concerts in a week is a nice way get out of the live music drought for me of late. Then 2 Hip shows in November! The fall is looking up. :thumb:
I saw Sarah at Bluesfest (with Gord)! She was fantastic. I'd love to see her again!

As far as I know, Weeping Tile still get together every Christmas in Kingston to play a charity gig.
Went and seen Sarah last night in Saskatoon. That woman has a bus-load of talent. Her voice just fills the room up. I thought the lady she had singing with her did a perfect job. Highlights were that Oleander song, Almost and Don't get yer back up. Josh Ritter was real strong too. I thought he was at his best on the more up tempo songs. He played a song and dedicated it to George Bush called "I'm trying hard to love ya but you don't make it easy babe". Pretty funny. Between songs he went on rant about how much happier cows look in Canada that in the U.S. Live music rules!
