Since the Corel Center and the Ottawa Senators have been bought out by Eugene Melnyk there has been quite the migration of big acts to other locations throughout Ottawa. Melnyk has even gone so far as to start his own Ticketmaster-like ripoff called Capitaltickets.ca, one can only imagine that this change has made a number of acts such as the Hip to look for alternatives.
I say hooray...the Civic Ctr is much smaller, and has a much better sound...less people equals less dumbasses...I like that.
Goulet!!!
maybe small arena means two nights of shows for us in Ottawa? Except that would mean 6 nights in a row with no break.... but, it going to sell out so fast!
Civic Centre much better than Corel Centre for concerts I think
smaller meaning better, and I would say the sound is better than at the Corel Centre

I agree. Maybe the Civic was the only venue available for that particular date. I'm kinda surprised they're playing arenas actually. The last time they played the Saddledome on the Music@Work tour, they only did one show and it didn't even sell out. The ACC and Copps make sense because they're still bigger than Jesus in the Toronto/Hamilton area, but out west the Hip's popularity has dropped a little bit over the past couple of years. Personally I was hoping they'd do a theatre tour again.
I'm just happy we've been picked for 1 night...doubt they'll do a double-dip in O-Town...last time I checked, it never hurt to pray though
Goulet!!!
-he said don't wipe your asses with your sleaves, you're a physical impossibility
Oh, great, now I have to pick between going to Florida for a week or going to my first Hip concert!
Why oh why would you want to go to Florida?
Thats a no-brainer.

Agreed!!! Go to The Hip show!
:jump :jump :jump
you know....these dates are not 100% confirmed as the email said. They may slide another open date between Nov. 26 (TO) & Dec. 1 (Montreal). So this tour sounds awesome!
Probably going to both Toronto & Hamilton shows for sure!
-later
Yeeeefreakin Haw!!
What great news to come home to. Friday night Hip concert in Calgary and a Saturday in Saskatoon. Can't even wait. :thumb: :thumb:

I was at the Saddledome and The Skyreach Centre in Edmonton for the Music@Work tour and they both seemed very sold out to me.
I'll be in Montreal during the Toronto show and Toronto during the Montreal show. shoot me.

I'd be willing to bet that they add the following two dates:
Nov 25 - Toronto, ACC
Nov 29 - Hamilton, Copps Coliseum
Ah...no Victoria show?
Maybe they'll tack one on for the 13th. Seeing them at the Royal theatre was one of the best shows ever.
Now I've seen the Hip at Copps before, but never at the ACC. I'll definitely be getting tickets for the ACC show, but for you London folks, what's the John Labatt Center like? Size? Acoustics?
If I could only do one of the two, which is a better venue, the John Labatt Center or Copps?
