Only six more sleeps until the start of the US tour in my hometown of Detroit! I will be following the band with my small group of friends during the beginning, middle and end of this tour.
Even though I usually see The Hip perform anywhere from 2-4 times each tour, this time around I am seeing even more shows due to the fact that the tour schedule is very compatible with my schedule and many of the shows fall within my 'driving range'.
These roadtrips will be somewhat costly, but this may be my last and only chance to do something like this. It does seem a little crazy, but I get to see my favorite band and meet many of the cool Hipbasers from different parts of the US and Canada. I also figure I am increasing my chances of hearing a rarity at one of the shows. My anticipation and excitement for this tour is building.
By the way, I am jealous of all of you who get to see The Hip make their triumphant return to their hometown.
I look forward to meeting some of you on the road!
I've got a countdown to detroit on the main index page of hip lust and I have a page of the shows the hip lust staff are going to. They are all countdowns to the second!
It's nice of everybody to keep informing us of how many days there are until their personal shows. You're probably unaware that those of us prone to fits of homicidal rage in our jealousy are being pushed ever closer to the edge...

oh whatever

At least you've been to a show!
I felt this was appropriate since he mentioned the Detriot tour and the hip kicking off the tour because I do have a countdown on my index page that is set to the detroit show "when the hip kick off their US tour in Detroit"

Don't worry, they're saving the best for last! :jump

For the record, when I posted this, there was a problem with the counters. Now they have all been fixed!

I wasn't trying to incite jealousy amongst our members. I was just expressing my excitement, which is hard to contain. As Thehip21 said, The Hip are saving the best for last (The Canadian Tour). Then it will be my turn to be envious.
Grooveless, keep that homicidal rage in check and channel it into something positive. Your turn is coming. November may seem like a long ways away, but then it will be your turn to experience this bliss I'm feeling.

I really am trying, but Kevala/Josh keeps posting.

Wow, now that's some dedication! I was wondering if they would play Black Day in July also. We can only hope......
Soory to burst your bubble, but the best is yet to come and it is not the canadian tour. All the shows have too many people there which brings too much security which brings long beer lines and you can't smoke. Arena shows are half as good as any one of the U.S. tour dates. After 68 shows I think I know what I am talking about.
DITTO, but for different reasons...you guys (and the rest of OUR fucking country too) got the club shows and they FINALLY after skipping us on 2 tours announced they're playing the 13,000 seat hockey arena here.
You guys got the best of it, I hope you appreciated it for what it was.
Just think of the honour of being the last show of 2004, Grooveless :thumb: What a Christmas present that is! *No Sarcasm!*
The Hip and their management are putting out a big advertising blitz for the last few days before the Detroit show. They are advertising on two Canadian radio stations that broadcast to Detroit.
One radio station gave away two tickets and airfare from Windsor/Detroit to the Chicago show next month. I tried to win them, but no luck. The show should end up as a sellout since there were only upper balcony and side seats available a couple of weeks ago when I checked at TicketBastard.
:jump :jump :jump
I have consolidated my plans with Chris' Posse traveling from the Toronto area and my Detroit Crew. We are all very excited for two nights of watching The Hip in concert.
Chris has some big plans for recording both the Detroit and Cleveland shows. Hopefully management at either venue will not wreck his plans. Chris also plans on documenting all the Hipbasers he meets on this trip. So take a look at Chris' avatar and remember what he looks like. There will be more than one camera recording at these shows, so make sure you try to find the one Chris is behind.
Hopefully, I will meet some of you on the road!
HIP HIP HIP HIP HIP HIP HIP HIP!!!!!!!!!
