I've done a search but can't seem to find much info on Hipbase about the wall in Kingston. I wanted to stop by tomorrow for a pic? Any pointers or pictures ?
thanks
Jeffro
well silly enough I'll answer most of my own question... from an old NEWSGROUP posting - still I'd like a picture of it... what happened to the hips' micro sites of all the albums /
I know it looks familiar from somewhere else, but it's not.
I live in Amherstview (it's just outside of Kingston, one of my friends
lived in a house his parents bought from Gord Downie's parents) and I know
exactly where the painting is! Here's a step by step guide, it's best to
walk it:
1. Going south on Princess St, turn right (west) onto King on the south side
of the street.
2. Continue walking past Bubba's Pizzeria (they have the best poutin in the
city) until you get to an alley.
3. Turn left down the alley, the painting is on the right hand side (if you
don't see it you must be blind, no offence to those who are). You can
distinctly make out the eye from the disk in the painting.
4. If you end up in Black Star Piercing you've gone too far down the alley.
If you end up at Market Square you've gone too far down King. If you end up
anywhere else you must be lost.
I took these ones last summer.
Great pics, thanks for sharing. For those of us south of theborder, it's the next best thing to being there!
Makes a great desktop wallpaper, too.
