Hey guys. I grew up in clifton park. Talk about an honor. I went to high school 3 min away from that place. Northern Lights is a really really small venue. Sort of strange; its in a strip mall with an RV/boat dealer. It's a dump compared to the landmark in the cuse. Were talking less than a thousand here. The stage is painted black plywood and the place smells like stale beer. Usually general admission. I can't wait! This is the best news I've had in years. I'm going to call them and see what it's all about!
Hey stuckatcuse,
Ah, good old Shenendehowa. I went there as well - '92 grad.
Northern Lights has been getting quite a few bigger name bands to play there recently.
Cool that they are playing there - kind of a bummer that it's not at the newly renovated and very nice Palace Theatre - 15 minutes away in Albany.
However, being less than a 10 minute drive from my house.... I'll take it.
See you all there.

I won't be able to afford to go to both shows, but I am willing to come down and meet Hip Basers!
Cheap tickets for this show:

Hey he's also Yankees fan. Other than that he's PERFECT!
Felt this was worth a new post. So, *bump*
So, of all of the well known Hip Basers who are going to Clifton Park, who is willing to take pitty on me and 'adopt' me for one night for the show. I am TERRIFIED to go into a bar/nightclub by myself. Specially for the time I'll be there and how late I'll be there, ya know, the later it get the drunker the crowd gets.
I am not willing to force my boyfriend or any other friends to come with me.
First of all, this is a 16 and over show. I doubt there will be anyone there but hip fans. I have a hunch that it probably won't even sell out (since no one in CP knows who the hell the hip are.)
Jeremy- Yes good ole shen.. I was class of 97.
Tell you what: I think this will be way cooler than the palace. It's like a treat. Standing room only. There will probably be less than 100 hardcore hip fans there. I can't wait. I am more excited for this one than syracuse. I'm no longer going to kingston either.
I knew the tickets would be cheap.. Thats actually kind of expensive for Northern lights.
Well... Not a real fan of the place.
Way too hot, the ceiling drips from all the heat & condensation, the sound is poor...
I saw Ben Folds there. The sound was bad, it was hot, etc.
Best part of the show was when he changed the chorus of "Rockin' The Suburbs" to "...I'm Rockin' the Strip Mall..."
However, I wouldn't miss it.
I think it will sell out. At the Palace shows, most of the floor and a decent section of the balcony is full - and I think that equals a lot more than Northern Lights can hold.

We shall soon see. I agree about the overall crappyness of the place. They are going to wonder what they got themselves into when they get there.

Evidence of how much of a hole this place is.

BTW, If anyone is coming to this show from out of town DO NOT stay at the Motel 6 in Albany!! I stayed there and had a bad experience with their housekeeping.
And now Ktown and I are going to THIS show and I'm flyin solo to Burlington!
At least I get to see the hip TWICE in TWO DAYS! :jump
This is going to totally rock!
I can't wait to see the hip in Clifton Park. This has a chance to be the best show ever. Gord has a better time in a dirty rundown place than he does at a terrible venue like Darien Lake. I have 68 shows under my belt and the more small shows I see the better. See you people there!!!
68 shows! *boggle* very cool, I'm jealous  Enjoy the show :thumb:
