i don't know about anybody else, but i can't get enough of IBE..every listen, i don't just like it more..i LOVE it more..when it ends, i play it again..i can't recall a CD having this effect on me in a looooooong time
I feel much the same way; however this happens to me with most CD's - Hip & others.
In the "other" category right now is "Final Straw by Snow Patrol."
It is a constant battle between Final Straw and IBE over who gets played on the drive home from work.
the new tea party is pretty damn good as well..great duet with holly mcnarland on one track
I cannot listen to this CD a single time...I ALWAYS listen to it at least twice, be it at home or on the bus or whatever. When the notes of Josephine fade to black, I always hit play again instead of fishing for another disc. It's short so it's easy to listen to multiple times, and the songs are just that good!
going through the first listen of the new tea party and it sounds great! as for ibe...yeah...people around me say i like it too much but it keeps getting better every spin

Agreed!

I've had IBE going pretty much non-stop since it was released. What an excellent album... and it's true; it does keep growing on you.. I have to listen to it at least five times a day or something.. I've never been into a CD like this since CMG!
The best thing to do is to leave it alone for a couple of days. I had a couple of other CD's in rotation for that last week and I just put IBE back into the deck this morning.
All I can say is WOW!

i agree...i hadnt listened to it for 2 days and then on the 5 hr drive home today i started with the new tea then velvet revolver before i listened to ibe and it made me believe 110% that this will be considered a classic hip album years down the road ala dfn
I would agree. Like all the hips albums, they grow on you. When I first heard IBE all I was listening for is gords great lyrics. Then I found myself in a day dream playing air guitar to Robby Baker's great guitar work on this album. Not to take anything away from Gord but most of the time all you hear about his rants. Robby's guitar work on all the albums and live show are sick. He gives the hip their classic sound. :thumb:
