At a concert last year a drunk SHORT girl climbed up on my shoulders (don't ask how) after I specifically said she couldn't. She was stuck up there for 20 minutes because I didn't want to hurt anyone by tipping her into the crowd...
If there world needs less of one thing, it's short people

Nah, short people are necessary. Those of us who are average height need someone to be taller than.

I do, however, have certain songs which I join the crowd in singing...like "WheatKings". I was also listening to the Darien Lakes show in my car the other day and noticed how much you could hear the crowd singing that. It gave me chills. I wondered at the time if the band looks at this as a huge compliment (how I would expect it to be taken) or is bothered by the fact that we aren't listening. I have the book "Have Not Been The Same". I guess it's high time I read it...

Those chills are exactly the "magic" I was talking about previously.

Exactly my thoughts!
This is right at the top of my list of Concert No-No's, next to girls on shoulders. I paid to see the band perform, not watch your backside, no matter how sexy, or short you are!
I pulled some chick off the shoulders of a guy at the first ARA in Markham, flipped out on them. I'm 6-5 so people don't get in front of my by standing but if someone is on shoulders I loose it!

I have to admit... when I am at a show I get so worked up- a crazy energy, and you better believe I sing.... and dance... whatever happens. While I would not intentionally bother someone, we are all there to have a good time. My singing and occasional screamings of love during songs should really not put someone out at a large concert. At a small, intimate, quite venue maybe....
Sometimes it just takes over.
And yes... I know exactly what people have been talking about when they say it has been "magical". ABSOLUTELY!

I don't drink.
I don't do the drugs the kids seem to be so into.
Screaming along with Gord is my release. Nothing beats a sweaty pit where a chorus of a thousand strangers breeds instant (but usually temporary
) freindships.
