Yes, Tina...we will be in Boston...would be great to hook up with you! It's the Albany show we need. Mark Sloggett has it and we keep begging him...maybe one day...
Fran
Locked...it seems you've seen a Boston show or two...
Love Somerville...wish they were playing there for a couple nights.
We have been putting the push on for them to play here in Maine at the State Theatre. It's a great venue...even for GA. (I prefer reserved seating myself to avoid the crush at the front while still being down front.)
We have a Clear Channel connection even. A no go I guess. They remix in Portland...that's all we get here now I guess!!
Fran
Cheers Fran!,
I believe my list is even missing another Avalon show during that tour cause I know I saw them twice there.. (can't recall the other date / same year?)
At least Maine made it into Gord's famous "Grace" rant during the 8/10/98 Bill's bar show...
"Just off the coast of maine, not too far from here, where the waters cool and clear, and there's jellyfish if you want them, sting your thigh, sting your ear, and if you get to clear then they'll sting you anyway, and then you get sort of nauseous and chocked up, and then your mom says you gotta stay on the beach for two hours, and she''ll wake you up every hour, because that what she read in "Concussion Tower" monthly magazine for suffers of unconscious, mind-bending sufferage..."
(where does he get all that???? all on the fly no less!)
Wicked awesome IMO...
PS: Look for the band to take in the Red Sox's 9/20/04 home game as they have down time the day before the show.. :thumb:
found it on the setlist archive..
10/4/96 they played Avalon right before the Cobo Hall show
that made the live (Ugh!) album...
I love this place! :jump
heres the setlist from the last two times at the avalon... i have a word file here with a bunch of newengland 96 dates and sets... pretty damn great sets during that period.

Anyone book a hotel in Boston yet? I have a tentative place "The Howard Johnson Fenway". It's right across from Fenway Park. Anyone know of this place? Bad area? Decent hotel?
it's a dump!....
try staying at the Elliot Hotel or the any of the Marriot's downtown...
Really? Why did it have a 3 star rating then? These other hotels you speak of, what kind of pricing are they?
Well, I looked up the hotels you gave me. The Elliot would cost me about $500.00 CDN/night. The Marriots would be around $300.00/night. The dump is starting to sound pretty good to me.
Do you mean it's a dump compared to the other hotels, or do you mean it's a place you would not want to bring your girlfriend to?
Sorry to post again, but here's the description of the place. I really do need some help finding a place. This description sounded like a bargain to me. Plus, Howard Johnson is a pretty reliable name.

I forget that corporate discounts cut those rates in half...
Stick with what's cheap..
hell, you're only gonna sleep there!...
Stay Hip!
I received my Boston tickets in the mail today. That was extremely fast considering they mailed them to Canada. I've got G1 tickets 4 to 11(not that it matters, but only 3 tickets were sold before I snatched them up).
andre, i live in NH , i got mine tuesday!!! ive had them under my pillow since then. GA2 seat 9. ?
GA2? What's that all about?
GA = General Admission. Unless something really weird is happening that night, there isn't assigned seating. The Avalon doesn't have seats.
