Hey guys. Im in a bit of a situation here. As much as i love the hip, as you may of heard, pearl jam in on the road again and i need to see them live. The only catch is you have to be an american citizen to BUY tickets. Once you have them, your fine.
Anyways, im canadian and cant buy tix to these show and was wondering if any of you american hip fans would be willing to help me out and buy tickets for me! If you could do this for me id be willing to throw alittle extra cash your way when i pay you back for the tix.

I understand the "influence the vote" deal, but you have to be an American Citizen to buy tickets? That's the stupidest policy I've ever heard.
How are you going to enforce that online, what if I'm a citizen living in another country... and why would you want to short shift your non-citizen fans like that? When you hold concerts in American cities, I think it's a safe bet your going to have an American majority. Is there a need to ban "outsiders?"

That what i thought when i fisrt heard, but apparently its a law. Something to the effect that foreign countries cannot contribute to the US ecection campaigns. And that is where all the money is going so i cannot purchase a ticket.
They are enforcing it by your credit card address...must be US...the billing address that is.
So in conclusionj...im screwed!
Ah... I see, a whole other can of worms.
In Canada, foreigners can't influence an election (Hence, some dopes are suing Mr. Moore over F9/11) and in the States, foreigners can't contribute to election financing (Thanks to John McCain... who coincedentally had MASSIVE donations from Chinese and Saudi contributors when he ran for Republican nomination in '00)
Is it really worth all the hassle?
PJ should personally donate an equivalent amount after the concerts are over. Someone could do the math, and instead of the funds going diretcly to the DNC or whatever, PJ could cut a cheque at the end of the tour for the DNC.
That way ALL fans get to see the show, and PJ still gets to back Kerry.
