Have you seen "An Evening with Kevin Smith?" You might lose some respect for him after... Smile

Really? I love Kevin Smith. Perhaps I'll stay away from that particular dvd. I wouldn't want it to ruin my image of him.

No, no... I mean Prince! Smile Seriously, if you like Smith, "An Evening With" is a MUST. Among the funniest things I've ever seen. And you can be sure Scoresese and Spielberg don't tell stories like THAT!

Yeah. I happened to catch that also when it was on. I've always had these misconceptions of him like he was too freaky for my ears or something. Maybe something I had heard, maybe just the way he acts, but listening to him in that interview with Bill, he made perfect sense talking about cutting out record labels and such. He also had me in stitches with that whole "Go to the concert." part where he looked right serious at the camera. Before I go out spending my money though, I think I'll download a few of his songs. His more recent stuff is certainly getting more of a funk vibe than the stuff he did in the late 80s.
In all honesty - Prince is my second favorite artist behind The Hip.
Yeah - that sounds weird. When people ask me what music I listen to and I say The Hip, Prince, Neil Young, Radiohead, Nick Drake, Porno for Pyros/perry Farrel/Janes Addiction.
You should see the blank stares I get.
I do not even know what it is - always loved Prince.
His guitar work is some of the best ever.
His honesty and insight to record labels is enlightening.
The guy truly an amazing musician.
If anyone needs some bootlegs or stuff - email me and we can work something out.

Ahhhhhh, ok. Thanks for clarifying. I'll have to check it out then.

I was going to post the same thing when I saw this topic.

"Prince has been living in Prince World for too long"

Kevin Smith tells some great stories in "An Evening with...". I've seen it a few times and laugh my ass off every time I catch it on TMN.
