Vapour Trails is the ultimate Paul song!
thecompletist Wrote:From what I've heard PAUL does have quite abit of solo stuff recorded and chances of a solo album are something he's talked about! (post TTH)

Wow, that would be awesome. Why does it have to be post TTH though? If Gord can do it...

Thanks for the info

Steve
I love it when Paul reminds me of Bob Dylan, with that rheumy, through the teeth style only him and Bob could possibly pull off.

Bobs still the king, though. 8)

For me, it's a tie:

The Lake Fever Heart Breaker verse

and

"Sing to end all songs to send all songs" from Daddy.

Confusedcratch:

Hmmm....well even if we worship the hottness of the hip over at hip lust we do still appreciate the music! Tongue

I'm a musician too ya know!

Mine would have to be either "Three Pistols" or "Get Back Again"

I'd love to hear him sing by himself

A friend of mine was at Darien backstage with a close friend of his who is a friend of Paul's thru family and the discussion actually came up and it was mentioned about how much material he had and that he was looking forward to releasing once the Hip were ....i can't actually type the word fin__d ugh?
The slow version of "Times Are Passing us by" has some of the most prominate Paul vocals Ive ever heard he bolts out the chorus much louder then Gord on the Demos version by far.

Lake Fever and Get Back Again are both brilliantly backed up!!

I guess Johnny would be the only one who couldn't make a solo album...I think he's the only bandmate not credited with writing songs back when they gave individual credits. At the MuchMusic 2000 show, somebody asked about Gord's solo album and Gord deflected the question asking when are we gonna hear Johnny's solo album, sarcastically pointing out that Johnny such a brilliant multi-istrumentalist...Johnny piped up and said "2012". I would have been annoyed by that if I were Johnny...it was Gord was marginalizing him! Any thoughts?

Maybe he wasn't joking. Johnny does play guitar, he wrote the riff for Thompson Girl. I dont' know how much other writing he's done, but there's that.

I'm not sure it's been mentioned yet, so: Membership. Particularly the harmonies on the "being drawn along by it" parts, and "couldn't fight the current, they couldn't save, couldn't save the sheds."

It was actually Paul's harmonies that first got me into the band, back in '88.

Out of curiosity, is there a compendium anywhere of what Paul and Gord S are singing when they're not just harmonizing on the backing vocals on various songs? I still can't make out a lot of the words.

Lord Brazle - you lyrical genius.
Are you listening?

Weird. I was looking for "Paul Langois solo" tidbits to make a thread of whether or not people think he should do a solo album and I stumbled upon this so, five days too late, now I'm listening... Tongue

But seriously, what songs are we talking about that they aren't very understood? Cuz someone post one and I'll have the lyrics in a jiff. Is "jiff" a word or is it "jiffy"? Confusedcratch:
