I looked and looked and looked for an actual film called "The Dark Canuck" back in '02 before I realized the metaphor. Couldn't find anything, and IMDB.com has nothing.

I think so too... That's why it'll be great to get a site like LB's up and running with similar descriptions and explanations of the many layers of the boys work.

Knowing the stories behind songs like Nautical, Canuck and Fever just elevates the expereince IMO.

Look at all your examples in the thread - this fits perfectly. There are thousands of examples in every hip song. Yeah, I agree with Stephen, Blow At High Dough just because of "Blow" doesn't neccessarily mean it's about coke. There's really nothing else in the song to point towards it. But the leitmotif is a good thread idea...

To me that verse has always been about the girl "giving herself" quite easily to whoever happened to the man of the moment. Gord's expression of "love" (He knows it's anything but genuine...) in exchange for her free uhhh... "goods." The "Fits her" thing has always pushed me in that direction... although the cocaine thing fits too... and maybe I just need to talk to this guy:
