I was under the impression that it was the next single too...ever since it was the 2nd song released on PureTracks...but meh, I dunno what's happening.
Summer was released as a promotional tactic for IBE on Canada Day weekend but was not an official single, and didn't make heavy rotation or regular play cycles on radio. Similar treatment for Heaven except exclusively available through the booze.

If there is a third single, I'd go with Mean Streak as it's a melodic rocker that builds and would balance well with the driving VS, poppy Nashville and the 2 "Downie Punk" promo tracks.

I LOVE IT! Nashville is one of my fave songs on the album!
i thought SIKU was a single, cuz they've been playing it on q92 just as much as they've been playing vaccination scar...which is pretty heavy rotation if you ask me.

Because it wasn't released and "pushed" as a single, it's up to the discretion of each station. As is the case with Q92. Hell, they could play Get Back Again if they wanted to...

Which brings us to the real question... just why don't they want to?

Yep. Cue "commercial radio is pure Rooster shit" comments...

Hopefully the semi-retorical question will prevent them. Smile
I think Are we Family? would make a great single. Playable on all types of radio stations. Good exposure.
I too think that Are We Family would be an inspired choice for a single...but NOT for the Canadian market, where it would come too soon after 'Good Life,' reinforcing the idea that the Hip have gone soft. But I think it would be a really brilliant choice for the American market. I mean, none of the trademark Hip classics have made a dent there...so go with the curveball, give 'em something rhythmic and catchy, but on the 'easy listening' side.

Won't happen, though. It's funny...from a career management standpoint it seemed as though, from UTH to DFN, the Hip could do no wrong. And since then, it seems as though they've been a bit snakebit.
I'm gonna say it's gonna be If New Orleans Is Beat.
It's "the ever-versatile Hip" image they gotta keep...
Plus it's a beautiful song and would pull off of the success of NOIS...

And who listens to the goddamn radio anymore!?!
Britney-then-FlavourOfTheWeek-then-BritneyAgain-then-FlavourOfTheWeekAgain-and-on-and-on....
Its a tie between Everywhere and Makeshift. Makeshift is my new favorite but it changes with every listen. This is my first post ever. Better get back to listening to the radio. Hope I didn't miss Hoobastank.
