Hugh23 from the U.S. of A.
Finally got to meet him (and his family) at the Wasaga show and I can't say enough about this guys energy, emotion, love for the band, their music and their fans. If you ever get the opportunity to meet this guy, do it. It'll be well worth it.
Thanks again for your hospitality at Wasaga, and for making our weekend that much better! :thumb:
Wasaga was beatiful, and the concert was awesome, but it was Hugh and his family who made my weekend!
Suzie (his friend) gave away extra tix at the beginning of the day to poor souls in need... it's all about the karma!
Hugh is my hero!
Can you describe Hugh for those of us who may have seen a person with such a high energy and not realized it was him?
You see, I don't know Hugh
I don't know Hugh
Hugh...you sound like a good man...hopefully you will be making the trip up to Sudbury (my home town) for the show on the 24th, altough I no longer hang my hat in the "Big Nickel" I would be more than happy to meet with you and suggest some great sights/restaurants/bars/burlesque homes etc etc whatever tickles your fancy. In all seriousness...if anyone has any questions regarding Sudbury please don't hesitate to ask. Goulet!!!
-you're as quiet as a fish, I only sing for the whole sea-
Haven't met Hugh in person yet, but hopefully a future hip show together will be in the plans. He's one the most down to earth, classy people I have met, well not met yet ...You get the point..Here's to one day sipping on a brew at a Hip show with ya buddy. :thumb:
What a great idea Chris! Start an appreciation thread for Hugh and his family so when they get home, they will have nothing but good things to read about them. I like it.
Hugh (and your amazing friends and family that were staying with you) I thank you for showing me that the Hip's music has no boundaries. We come from different worlds yet it was so wonderful to know that music could bring us together.
Thanks so much for the hospitality in Wasaga and I can't wait til we meet again!
Trevor
Hey, what a wonderful thread to find after a 6 1/2 hour drive today! Meeting everyone was definitely a highlight of my trip. Even though we met for a short period of time I feel like I made some good friends.
Chris is a super friendly guy who really made an impression on my son. I worried a bit if things would turn out, but he and his friends put me right at ease.
Stephen, Shannon, and friends are dedicated fans. I was very glad you guys came by after the show to talk about the parts of it we liked the most. Did you stop by The Hip wall in Kingston on your drive to Ottawa?
Angie was very nice and a little shy. I told her to get excited! We're about to see The Hip! When I saw her at the show she was reved up. I know she'll be in Sarnia, so rest up and save some energy for there.
I will be following the band during part of the upcoming tour, so maybe we will meet up again.
Hugh -- we did check out the wall! it was really exciting too. That was by far the best Hip trip I've ever been on! Maybe we'll stop by Detroit to check them out on the next tour - and we'll definately stop by for a hello!
Hugh,
It truly was a treat getting to meet you and your entire entourage. It's great to see such a die hard Hip fan living south of the border, and it shows once again that good music can bring people from all over together. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did, and I look forward to meeting up with you and your family again sometime in the not too distant future.
Thank you once again for everything.
~Darren~
If Hugh were a politician, I'd vote for him twice.
...Oh, and his lovely wife and friend have the whitest teeth I've ever seen!

I thought I actually saw them sparkle a few times, when the light was just right!
