Say, does this bug anyone else here? The Toronto Rocks DVD set is going to be released as two discs in Canada - but only one disc elsewhere. As soon as I heard that, I already feared that I knew what was going to be released on the Canada-only disc. That's right, it's the SARS Stock performances that were performed by the Canadian acts that are barely known outside of Canada - while the only Canadian acts that are on the international disc are the very well-known ones of Rush and the Guess Who. This just isn't fair!! I don't know who came up with the idea - but to whomever did, I would just love to give these people the riot act!! What do you think about this? These industry people really piss me off - like they think that non-Canadians are somehow unworthy of listening to the Canadian acts that are only known in Canada.

I just bought it from futureshop.ca. They only have the one disc for sale. Where did you see two?
They were discussing it on Q107 the other day - then I searched on the internet to find our more about it. This

i have a DVD with the whole ACDC set and RUSH sets as well the audio is soundboard i believe the info i got on the DVD is that it is from the CBC broadcast with out commercials and missing segments i think its from the master of what cbc taped but didnt broadcast
i also saw a DVD of the full stones set on dvd from once again cbc broadcast master

well there'z not any concern actually but I guess it doez screw with the idea that you can pick it up at your local vinyl exchange; but with the net, there is no border, anything material for pruchase is just a click away..... seen some on Ebay, the 2 disk available to you's good people in the Statez........
Well, it's true that are online sites like Amazon and such where you can pick up recordings from just about anywhere. I do still wonder why it was done that way, though.

I have a theory as to why....
The powers that be in the music industry have this theory that Americans won't buy any music unless it is American or American sounding. Also, there is a school of thought that says that Canadians will rush out and buy anything as long as it's Canadian. Both ideas suffer from VERY faulty logic, but that is beside the point.
I don't know if the price structure for these items changes depending if the buyer is getting one disc (U.S.) or two (Canada). I bet Americans are paying almost the same for one disc. This way the big guys make a fortune by selling what maybe the larger market share half the product.
Also, it is probably relatively cheap to by the rights to the footage of certain bands, so they can clean up there too. This would explain the high # of Have Love Will Travel songs as opposed to the "limited" # of AC/DC tunes.. (I find this VERY unfortunate because I thought AC/DC were even more outstanding than usual at this event).
Finally, by selling only one disc in the U.S. the can secure greater sales in the perceived larger market at later time with such "special" sales as collectors/ anniversary editions, etc.

I hate American mass-media and religious capitalism, but the back of the disc does say that all proceeds including usual performers fees have been donated to a series of charities including the health care workers funds.
But I agree... I think people like Sam Roberts and Kathleen Edwards deserve the exposure.

Roberts is a little overexposed IMO right now, but I'm with ya on Kathleen Edwards. She's a one woman rock 'n roll seduction machine.
I don't understand why they can't release a DVD set of the whole thing. It would be a little expensive, but the Stones, AC/DC and the Guess Who are three of the greatest rock acts of all time and cutting them back to add in Justin Timberlake is borderline offensive.
Got mine in the mail yesterday...had 2 dvd's inside. Haven't watched it yet.
