Hmm, I'm starting to wonder if Gord isn't signed up to the dictionary.com Word Of The Day mailing list...

Listening to Gord Downie sing is like listening to someone sing along to a Word-of-the-Day calendar. At least he's really good at it.

He probably does read the thesaurus. I know I read both the dictionary and thesaurus. I'll pick up the dictionary, open it randomly to a page and look for a word I've never used before. Then, I'll use it where ever I can find it relevant in everyday conversation. There aren't any "new" words on the album that I haven't already heard... "Makeshift." I've heard it before but I'm gonna probably be using a little bit more than usual. "Makeshift". What a word!
