I must confess..I like the old Nickelback...when their songs sounded different. Now I often find myself being drawn in by Avril, her songs are catchy, and..she's hot, ofcourse.
Tough choice there, but if forced I would have to go with the better of the worse - Nickelback.

I actually liked Nickelback once upon a time. I bought "The State" after hearing their stuff played on CFox. I even bought "Silver Side Up" and saw them in concert. That really rubbed me the wrong way. I get the feeling that if he thought his fans would buy a disco record, he'd churn one of those suckers out too.
I really prefered cryptic lyrics to songs about your girlfriend sucking you off, thank you very much.
If I could listen to their old stuff, BEFORE SILVER SIDE UP, I would choose Nickelback. If not, I would choose Avril, because she's easier to ignore, and although I don't enjoy her music, it's not as infuriatingly terrible as Nickelback.

Yeah, you make some pretty good points. Actually, I kind of like "Leader of Men" and another song or two before they hit it big. I agree that if disco was selling, good ol' Chad would put out a disco record. I saw him interviewed and he mentioned that artists should be making music for the fans. I agree that songs should be accessible enough that not every normal people is going to hate them, but writing and composing songs for yourself is the way to go and if a lot of people like them, well great.
Just for the record, you guys think Avril is hot? WOW, am I missing something?
tough call.... i can't stand nickelback and avril lavigne is so annoying in interviews.

I'm torn...I have a real dislike for "all things Chad", and yet I can't get a half-dozen of the new Thornley tunes out of my head (the disc is on CK's label and reeks of his influence)...
If my life depended on picking one or the other (thank god that ain't the case), I'd have to go with the kid from Napanee...hey, I was a 16 year old boy once... :lol:

Paul Shaffer should pull a few strings and get the Hip on the Late Show.
I don't think Paul Shaeffer would do any favours for the Hip. I doubt he knows more than one song of theirs.
on the tonight show web page they ask you who you would like to see on the show i put the hip maybe everyone else can too and then maybe they could play the show
