There's an article about the Hip, based on a recent interview with Paul Langlois in today's Kingston Whig-Standard. Little new is said other than that the Hip want to play Kingston soon, possibly, buy not likely, this summer.

Ah, Brian's Record Option...you haven't lived until you've shopped there. The thought of seeing the Hip in Kingston is enough to make me froth at the mouth; it would be unhinged.

Do they sell boots and imports?
The only word to describe Brian's is "clusterfuck". It is the most unorganized mess of a store on Earth. However, ask him where you can find that Springsteen record you want with Kitty's Back on it and he'll have it in a flash. He knows where EVERYTHING in that jungle is. I guess as long as he knows, right.
Not a lot of imports or boots per say. I found a really good verson of U2's War there though for 3 bucks once

"House of Guitars", eh? Hummmmmm..... If I'm not mistaken, we used to get comercials for them on late night t.v. when I lived in Kingston. They were incredibly low budget, but were kinda cool in a kitchy kind of way.
They perfected the rapid zoom in and out thing long before Wayne's World. Everytime I would see them, they put me in mind of some cheap early morning Billy Van kinda show...
(Does anyone else remember him or that kid's show he used to have? It was called House Of Frightenstein or something equally silly.... ) :?

Mostly, I just sit here trying to understand all that racket on the radio. Is that what the kids are calling music these days? Sounds like a bunch of noise to me. And why doesn't that Bobby kid cut his hair? Looks like a hippie. And that Gordie, always talking about strange things. I bet he smokes that waky-tabbacky. Too bad, cause they seemed like such nice boys....
Oh well, here's hoping the grandkids will visit. Sundays are tapioca pudding night. After dinner Mr. Weinstein from room 203 takes out his teeth and does a splendid impression of Uncle Miltie. Oh we laugh.....

Brian's...man, that brings back fond memories...I remember buying at least a dozen huge posters from Brian to wallpaper my first "ghetto" house living room...I was back a couple of years ago for my (gulp) 10-year university reunion and had to drop in...
"Clusterfuck"...beautiful. Couldn't have said it better myself...:lol:
I think it's safe to say that Brian is in possession of at least 50% of the world's vinyl...
Still, the fact he's still in business speaks volumes about his legendary status...

House of Guitars rocks!! My mom-in-law lives down the road from there in Roch, and we try to hit it a couple times a year...but it's been a while. You can find ANYTHING there. I love in the one corner of the store, they have a stack 6 feet high of concert shirts...and you can just rifle through them and make a complete mess. They aren't in a bin, but rather in this HUGE pile on the floor. Gotta love that place...
