i dont get it either. They have so much awesome material. It would not be problem to put together a solid DVD.

"Staff?" Does Billy Ray have a camera under his hat?
Tiger the Lion... I'm guesing you didn't see this one with Chris, Kate and the green lights in 2000. It damn near stole the show every night.
You're right though: A well produced, properly promoted concert DVD has been overdue for a LONG time.
Agreed! As much as I love the video boots I've seen over the years, it would rock to be able to have a polished compilation of their material. Who knows? Might get some new fans out of the deal. Listening to the Hip, and seeing them live are two totally different things. The live shows are what make you a fan for life.

I'll put my name to this.
I've never seen the Hip live (my lovely drug habits  ) but I'm a fan for life.
Put me down for the DVD petition as well. However, I totally disagree with you regarding Tiger the Lion. As already stated above, the versions with Chris Brown and Kate Fenner from the 2000 shows were absolutely jaw-dropping. That song is freakin' intense!
Being, as you may not know, the greatest Hip Fan in the Universe...
Of course I saw Chris and Kate (Also known as Sluts of canadian music industry) Preform with the hip at Massey Hall for the Music at Work album release....and Yes I saw Tiger the Lion, and Yes it was awful....Dont lie to yourselves, that song is poo. Nuff said...
however, the rest of their catalogue is solid gold.
So Please People, just admit it, their is no need to lie, in fact lying only makes it worse. Lets be honest and tell the hip when they have done us wrong. Like COke Machine Glow, he done us wrong on that one, and we told him, and then He done us right with Battle.
Although the poetry book coke machine glow is fabulous!

I would have to disagree. After seeing Gord's solo tour this summer, and listening to both solo efforts countless times, I still think they're total gems. They are certainly quite a departure from hardcore hip, but they're excellent in their own right. And no, I'm not lying to myself.

I've never heard the live version of Tiger but it was truthfully one of my least faves from M@W. I felt the album itself wasn't the Hip. I still can't believe they did half those songs. and i agree, CMG rocked! Everybody's got an opinion... maybe some people like this song? :thumb:
Just because everyone has an opinion doesnt make them right.
But i'm not here to hate, i'm here to congratulate.
For I envy people who can listen to Tiger The Lion and get pleasure out of it, it must be nice to realize what that is going on in that 6 minute mess...I bet they could even enjoy summer is killing us...oooooops...
too soon?
ps. Although I have my own feelings about Chris and Kate single handedly making the hip create a bad album...I must say that Kate singing Flamenco with Gordie was a thing a beauty.
I would LOVE to see a DVD, however, petitions are usually pretty useless. I bet they will make a DVD pretty soon, and a petition won't make up their minds. They already know they have a huge fanbase that would want it.
The Hip opened with Tiger the Lion at Darien Lake during the M@W tour. The song blew me away. Heard it a couple more times on that tour. The odds of hearing it live again are slim because of the opening pre-recorded sounds. I would have to rank it in my top 5 live songs by the Hip. So, Cpt., you must be upset about Britney cancelling her tour?
That M@W thing that Canoe.ca was doing, with all the live songs from dozens of live venues... yeah, Tiger The Lion was fantastic with the lighting and the emotion and was just so awesome... Tiger the Lion... damned it may be for its complex lyrics, but everything behind it is so awesome...
PS... I sign your petition, and I don't think anyone on this forum would have it any other way...
Yeah! What the hell is this thread gonna make a difference?!
The Hip don't give a fiddler's **** (not green, rhymes with chuck)
And you obviously never had a daddy to tell you calling women you've never met "$lut$" is disrespectful. Real and noble men (such as me) don't swear in front of ladies.... and how would you know they were "$lut$"? Fiber-optics in their ceilings?!
When was the last time you got some, Britney fan?....
