Some of the stuff he says makes a lot of sense. I don't really care that he slags other bands. He's not making friends in the Canadian music industry but maybe he doesn't want to. After all, everyone's entitled to his/her opinion and if he doesn't like the Hip or OLP or Nickelback (well, it is quite difficult to like Nickelback) than all the power to him. If he thinks Copyright are geniuses, all the power to him. That shouldn't affect your opinion of his music all that much.

For the record, I do think he's a pretty smart guy, and I especially agree with his views on politics. I even like some of his music. I just think he spends a little too much time pointing fingers and slagging other bands. It makes him look like a jackass.

He hasn't done that since the MG-B days (circa 2000). It's still getting played up like he uncontrollably bashes other modern rock groups.

Yeah, I defend his right to have opinions and express them but he would be better off if he were a little less VOCAL on all his views. We all have opinions but we don't have to let the whole world know all of them. I just think people should judge the music and solely the music when talking about his cd's.

I'd agree that the man should shut up about his views if it were something that not everyone could agree on, but his most vocal cause is for human rights/amnesty.... how could that ever be a bad thing to promote?

As far as the new cd..I finally heard it. Gave it about 3 listens and I love it! It is so mellow in comparison to some of his other stuff. Different sound for sure!

Just saw Matt play in Victoria tonight. They played just about all of Day For Night before the bands started. (more signs that matt is a hip fan)

I really enjoyed hearing Nautical Disaster played in a bar instead of shitty dance music.

2nd best album released this year, right after IBE, i love it, it reminds me a lot of underdogs, and that is a VERY good thing. Poor Man's Grey should be the next single, or maybe Put Out Your Lights, MG's a fucking musical genius, i swear.

I got to see Matt in Regina at the state with Wil. A really good night with both acts sounding dead on. The low point was when Matt tried to talk about some of the causes he was representing and a couple of clowns started heckling him yelling "we came here for music, not politics". Welcome to Regina Matt.
