WOW...this is a tough one but my top 5 listened to cd's other than hip are:
1. Sam Roberts - We Were Born in a Flame
2. Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion 2 (First cd I ever bought in grade 10, still love the rocking songs)
3. Toby Keith - Shockn Y'all (If you hate country, god knows I used to, buy this album and crank it! Trust me, it'll get ya somewhat hooked)
4. Headstones - Greatest Fits (All the classics on one disc, great stuff)
5. Audioslave - Selftitled

Obviously Thornley (with Ken Tizzard) is making huge waves on both sides of the border, as evidenced by the Leno appearance last month...
Danny Greaves' new project "Doctor" plays their first ever gig tonight at the Horseshoe as part of the NXNE...their first single really grows on you after a few listens (available at maplemusicrecordings.com for anyone who's interested), and the CD is due out in August...
And IMHO, the best of the three could be the sleeper...If the mp3s available on Joey Serlin's site are any indication of what's to come, they guys could very well go 3-for-3 in branching out (likely in three decidedly different target demographics)...

Thanks for all the responses....I have written a bunch down and am gonna pick up a couple CD's this weekend. Some of these are people I have never even heard of. It will be nice to spice up the collection with some new material. :thumb:

i checked out the show last night dannys new band doctor they are really good i recommend to grab there new album when it gets released as well check them out if they come around your city
