Yes, do tell how you managed 55 shows last tour....were there any you missed? And how many times did you meet the band?

I think they did 75-80 shows for IVL.
Lots of extended weekends, all night drives, and creative planning. And lots of vacation time. And of course tons of credit card debt.

cratch: ...are you in love with them?!06-08-2004, 08:18 PM
I love their music. I have been a fan since 1988. Have seen over 150 Hip shows in 16 years.
I have briefly talked with Gord a couple of times. I'm not really interested in the backstage/meeting the band type of thing. Never have .. never will.

So far I'm in to Ontario Place. Wassaga will probably happen, as well as local secret shows. As for the rest of the year, it all depends on where they tour and how much OSAP I get in the fall/winter

OSAP  hahaha...took me forEVER to pay that back. Sadly, I had to turn down Angie's generous offer for very good July 1st tickets (luv ya hun! ). I'll just be going to Sarnia Bayfest and Detroit IF there's a Detroit show. MAYBE Chicago too if it's on a weekend and at a cool venue like House of Blues.

I believe Mark is the guy I met in Montreal. And, I must say, he's the guy that I saw up in the front row with a video camera at every show I saw. I saw 11-12 shows on the IVL tour, and he was at every one. I hope to hit 15 this tour. Just think, if you go out to Boston, that's 2 or 3. Then on the way home stop in Vermont, Syracuse and Buffalo. They add up fast.

Ya... but how does he hold down a "relationship" that allows for this addictive-activity?
cratch: No Limitations.... I guess

I've never felt so much affection for another man. You've helped me realize the true beauty of humanity.
If you ever need anything...
God bless you good sir.

My limit is usually around 10 shows. During the Phantom Power tour, I did 13, that was pretty nuts. I'm fortunate though, because my husband is as big of a Hip fan as I am (we met at a Hip concert). We usually do the shows in and around southern Ontario and WNY...and hit Ohio and Michigan. And we always plan at least one or two vacations down south during their tours down there.

I try not to set limits. If money and time were not a problem, I'd follow their tour bus.
I've seen every show in the Toronto area since 1999 with the exception of the Horseshoe Show Dec 29-1999 and New Years Eve last year. I hit 9 shows on the IVL tour and this tour I'll try and do as many as possible. I've never really ventured outside of the province or country until last tour so this time I hope to hit some other American cities, perhaps out East in the Maritimes because I have family out there. So far, heading to July 1st at Molson Amp, July 11th at Wasaga Beach and July 23rd at Darien Lake. Bring on the pre-IBE shows!!!!

I will try to attend every show that they do in the Toronto area. I also like the idea of a trip within a trip. We travelled to Myrtle Beach in '99 and Orlando in '02 to attend HIP shows. I'm hoping to plan a Vegas trip this tour (assuming that they play HOB in Las Vegas again this tour).

55 shows in one tour??? that is amazing!!! that had to be an experience and a half. i'd love to do that but saddled with a mortgage, new truck payment, and an expensive drinking habit i'd have to sell everything and rob stores in each city they played.
it sounds crazy........but it just might work!!
