Oh, sorry... is it: casserole? I was spelling it: fo-en-etic-lee.

Either way, it's great.

Well whats in this dish, ingredientz wise??? Aboriginal people, well not my fam damily, didn't/don't make many of those. Our main courz'ez consisted of bannock and soup, rez style 8) and for dessert rice pudding. quite delishious!

Uh, summit, are you serious? I hate to sound like an idiot, but the chef in me cannot get my mind around the idea that you don't know what a casserole is. Is this an inside joke I'm stepping into? If so, I will excuse myself (somewhat embarrassed) and step away......
No joke my Las.....I know it's soundz unbelievable but its something that was never apart of our diet, and in my 31yrs on this ball of dirt whats in a casserole has never come up. therefore i'm ignorant to whats in it, ya i've heard of them but what 1 throws into the bowl got me. I guess its just like whats some tiny african country consider their delicasy is something we'd might not hear about.....
Well, for the most part, a casserole can consist of just about anything. Traditionally, these were baked in a glass dish called a "casserole" dish. Hence the name. Lasagna, sheppard's pie, homestyle mac and cheese with breadcrumb topping are all examples of casseroles. My mom's favorite was macaroni, ground beef, cheddar sauce and broccoli. (Great way to feed a large family on a tight budget.)

I've thrown in a link to a website with great casserole ideas in case you want to try one.

The one my mom made was pretty good too. Let me know if you want the recipe. It's pretty easy. Big Grin
Thanx for that link K-town :thumb: , so it's not 1 specific dish, as I assumed it was. I think I may have to whip myself up a casserole. If there's one thing i need to learn is how to cook more than 3 diiferent kindz of mealz.......And yes I'll take that recipe....
The wonders of the Hipbase continue to impress.
