Here's a thought I had...Pearl Jam did this for their '98 tour...each member of The Hipbase votes once for the one song they'd like to hear this tour, or possibly three songs, whatever. We form a side site for this and eventually when the list is compiled, send it over to The Hip? I know something like this was done last tour, but it never hurts to try again. I think Yellow Ledbetter was the Pearl Jam song most requested when they did this. It wouldn't even necessarily have to be older, rarer songs...whatever you want. Any thoughts? Lance, this being your site, what do you think? I had this idea and was going to make a new thread, but this works....what does everyone think?
I know Pearl Jam fans in 1998 organized the "Breath Campaign" until Breath was finally played at the first MSG show that year (go to www.fivehorizons.com to read about it if you're interested). Basically fans brought signs that said Breath on it to the shows until it was finally played. The next night fans brought signs which said "Thank You" which is pretty cool.
If I had to pick a Hip song for them to bring back it would be the following...
- Every Time You Go
- Pigeon Camera (played a few times last tour)
- Thugs (played a few times last tour)
- Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin Man (played a few times last tour)
By the way...Long Time Running was played alot in 2002, and somewhat regularly in 2000 if I'm not mistaken.
long time did get played quite a bit i guess..but in the 16 shows i've seen i've seen it played only ONCE...although, that once was quite a moment....
i need to hear "inch an hour" live before i die...

Vapour Trails, i can never get enough of this song
Just for a few shows replace Blow and NOIS with When the Weight Comes Down and Another Midnight.

Amen to that! The chances of that happening? Better than me becoming Pope!
i don't care what they play as long as NOIS is NEVER, EVER played again.
I would love to hear Emperor Penguin...I know its been played a handful of times, I just haven't been lucky enough to catch it. Hearing Long Time Running live was awesome....wouldn't mind hearing it again
