I agree that darien lake is not the ideal place to see the hip. I wish they would play at Shea's downtown. I saw the Tea party there a couple of years ago very similar to the Landmark theater in Syracuse.

i'm in east amherst. Why is it so easy for the Bandits to win world chanmpionships? How many will this be in 10 tens years? Now if only the bills and Sabres could follow...... The Hip most likly will play Darien Lake. They played there for the last 2 tours, Labor Day weekend if I remember right. I had front row for both shows, gotta get on ticketmaster.com early. Also had g.a. pit for the last air canada show.

I spent NYE in Buffalo, and I gotta say I loved it. Something weird though...
At around 9:00pm, myself and two friends went for a walk to check out the town and find a pool hall. We walked right into the heart of downtown, around that big round-about, and down the street with the light-rail system running right down the middle of it. It was deserted...I don't mean one or two other people around, I mean EMPTY, total ghost town. At around 10:00 the Eyewitness news team started setting up their truck for what I guess was going to be an "on location" at a NYE party, but there was still nobody around.
We found a pool hall up a flight of stairs near the theatre and this really nice bank building, but when we left at 10:30, the streets were still pretty empty... is this normal for downtown Buffalo?
Granted, at 2am when we left the bar, the streets were crawling, but is the early hours ghost town the norm?

syracuse not a party town?? jenna, i'm a party veteran. i've approached drinking records on bourbon street in new orleans only to know if i broke it i'd be bedridden for a week. {i bowed out after the owner told me how much booze was in each drink....scary}the landmark theatre has easily 7-10 bars in back of it. BUT i must admit the last show also was on a night that the syracuse orangeman had a football game. but all three concerts i've attended there the partying was a blast. i HOPE they return there again. then again i just noticed that you go to school there.........so you trump me on that one.

STEPHEN......its all where you go. chippewa is the hotspot. that part of downtown that you were in is pretty empty. one of the better bars{the mohawk place} that have up and coming bands is in an area that seems deserted every time i go there. its kind of like lock the truck and run for the bar and hope your night doesnt end up on "eyewitness news." i hate when that happens.

Has anyone seen Strictly Hip play? They're a pretty good Hip cover band. The singer even looks like Gordan.

ive seen strictly hip at least 100 times. They are a tight band. The lead singer Jeremy is a good friend of mine. If you havent checked them out go over to strictlyhip.com and check out when they are gonna be playing near you. Its always a great time.
