Hey guys,

I haven't been here to check in for quite some time so this may be really old news to everyone, but I was in HMV in Calgary this weekend and, as always, checked the Hip section for any sweet deals on the old discs (they make great gifts) and they had an HMV ad card saying "look for the Tragically Hip Greatest Hits Album in September"

IS this true? Is there going to be a greatest hits album? and if so, what does it mean? Could it end up being a 2 disc with a disc of B-sides? Maybe a DVD?

Just thought I would throw that out there and see what everyone thought

Ciao for now

Very Interesting, But it sounds like it could be a mistake to me. Unless of course the greatest hits album was actually a box set of all of their CDs.

I can't imagine compiling one single greatest hits cd.

But, who know...
Woah!

Some people will say "The Hip don't need a greatest hits album....they don't need to look back.. yadda yadda". All I can say is, if anyone deserves a greatest hits album, they do!

I see new bands today putting out greatest hits CDs after 3 or 4. Bit silly really.

I for one would love to see a great treatment of a Hip "hits" CD. Extensive liner notes with rare background......and and....oh wait...we don't know if it's happening yet. I'll calm down
wow that would be sweet. Hopefully it will come with a second disc being b-sides or a dvd like STP did last year.
Ill go to my HMV today to check it out 8)

As Steven Page once sang: "If you're a real fan, then you've already got 'em."
Well I agree, I mean I already have my third set of cds sealed and put away for the day I have children and they are old enough to hear Daddy's music (set 1 is for everyday use, set 2 is just for me)....

but with greatest hits albums sometimes comes B-side compilations, DVDs and the inevitable talk of retirement. I saw the card in HMV and felt it was my duty to let you guys know...

I am far from certain that this is fact I am just filling you in on what I saw.

If anyone else sees this ad card let us know, sure will make for interesting talk on here if it is true as we all try to guess track listings and what may accompany the package!

Good eye Jesse! What did the folks at HMV say about it? Can they confirm it for you in any way?

Yep, good work. I'll check the HMV on Sparks street here in Ottawa tomorrow morning and see if they have the card...
