It kicks in at the 13 second mark...."so the chemistry's set".....
Gord's bass lines are awesome in this song.
I don't know why but I've always wanted to see Sinclair belting out the lyrics with Gord, ala Steve Harris of Iron Maiden  Sinclair already rocks out most of the time, it would be pretty wierd to see him singing along too.
I noticed the great bass! I love it when the bass doesn't start right away and then kicks in, making the song sound more "full" than you thought it was going to be. Good stuff.
As Hugh Dillon once said: "Gord Sinclair is the unsung hero of that band."
Think about it, Gord S plays so many melodic and important parts in SO many songs. Think about how many time it's his notes that send the crowd into their simultaneous recognition of "Hey! I know this song:"
Nautical
Grace
Blow
Use... and the list goes on and on and on...

As always, simple, yet kick ass bass!! :thumb: :thumb:
I find that the bass has been the base (sorry) for a lot of Hip songs. Each member brings their own unique element to the band, and that's what makes the music work so damn well.
Finally someone else that agrees with me on this one. Downie has the stage persona and poetry but Gord S. has the backbone. MTV has a show that has bands do covers of other artists albums live...I would love to see Gord S. do a solo of his own covering some of the hips greatest....with his own little touches that is. I have played bass for years and have covered more than my share of tunes, but nothing is better than playing a loud, tight cover of Nautical......the best!
