Today's shot in the dark: Anyone in the GTA or Kingston area who works for a place that's hiring right now? Anyone want to hire a fellow Hip fan?
Just thought I'd check. The crunch is setting in. Summer employment for students seems to be slim so far.

ya im looking for a summer job too and im geting really stressed. anyone in hamilton want to hire me for the summer?
Have you thought about somewhere like Sears? I worked there while I was in university. They're always looking for people because it's such a big company, and it has stores nationwide.
It's not only sales jobs available at these places. There are the call centres, the credit dept, installation, parts and service, and others that I can't think of right now. I worked in receiving for two summers.
The pay is fairly good--above average for most positions. It's pretty good if you're looking for something for the summer or part-time. If you are in the Belleville area, you may want to try at the "Distribution Centre" on College Street (?). I've heard they are always looking for help.
I wouldn't plan on making it a career or anything, but it might provide some cash for the summer.

I checked out workopolis and applied at a couple of places -- I'm gonna keep checking back there.
My housemate works at the Sears in our mall at home. That could be an option. I'd probably need a second job though. Still, beggers won't be choosers
