And they're booing THOSE people's anthem. not cool.
Thankyou!! I for one, never wanted the war.
I completely agree with Jen. There are so many Americans that are opposed to this war, for various reasons and in varying degrees. . . personally, I take pride in being an American, despite the fact that all the actions that our leaders take may not be noble. Just because I am an American, does not necessarily mean that I agree with the direction in which our country seems to be headed. I still take pride in our anthem, and our flag, beacuse those symbols stand for so much more than the rash and selfish actions of our current President. Not to pick on Bauer, but in my opinion, the star-spangled banner is not just a song, but a mark of my nation, my culture, and my vaules. If the situation were to be reversed, I feel that that reaction would be one of substantial anger and outrage....that's just my two cents.

Hey Jenna,
Pick on me any time I can take it. I do remember back in 92 I think it was when the Jays won the series, didn't you guys march our flag into the stadium upside down. I love my country too but I don't care to much if someone sings our song wrong or boos at it or even burns our flag, which might get you thrown in prison down there. It's just a song and a piece of fabric. Maybe the montrealers wanted to hear America the beautiful instead of the star spangled banner.
I really don't care for the Star Spangled Banner - and, as far as I'm concerned, I don't care if I never see another American flag again - but I do get very insulted when people lump all Americans together and act like we all agree with the war. The truth is, Bush had cheated his way into office. Half of the Americans who have voted didn't even want Bush in office - and it's not like Al Gore was a saint, either. It was a case of choosing the lesser of two evils. I know some who have voted for Bush only because Bush was against abortion - and now regret it. I can't even vote in this year's elections, because I'm only 17 years old. These are some of the major reasons why I really hate being a part of this country - and plan to move to Canada this fall.
