Just heard on Y108 in Hamilton, that the new Tragically Hip single "Vaccination Scar" will be at the Y108 offices and played to the public on April 13th. Differs from the April 8th we've heard from HTZ FM in St. Catharines. Don't know why one station would get it earlier than another. Anyways, it is being heavily promoted in Southern Ontario (center of the universe by the way)

I have not heard anything on Power97 in Winnipeg. Probably sometime this week.
BTW, do they play a audio clip of the new song?
you know what, i think that they should put like the mp3 or a clip of the new song on the hip club for real fans to hear the new song first before it goes on the radio. that would be awesome!
April 13 makes more sense than the 8th as new music always seems to get released on Tuesdays.
April 13th is my birthday. A new Hip song would be a great present!
Larry & Willy (of the formerly mighty, now lame, 99.3 The Fox) started pushing it today on JackFM, announcing the release date as April 8. I called 'em up and explained that it's the single, the album probably is in June. I told them about DJDave and the roughs being played at Canucks games, plus how DJD is the project manager. I asked them to pull some strings with DJD and get something early if they could. On air later, they corrected themselves and told listeners about all of this. They also did bring up the fact that the release date wasn't a Tuesday.
I also told them about the Hipbase and where to find the new info. Larry & Willy are huge Hip fans and had already played Twist when they announced the first bit. Upon correcting themselves, they proceeded to play Boots. Great DJ's and great guys!
what I don't get is how Djs all over the country are pushing the single now and yet there has been NOTHING from the band... like where's the hype?! I feel so uneasy hoping for a new song next week (!) when we haven't gotten some exciting hip mail... you know?

I emailed Brother Bill -- I mean, Neil at CFOX but didn't get a response yet. He too is a huge Hip fan and had a real good interview with Gordie pre-White Ribbon. Hoping for some news, one way or another.

The White Ribbon Concert is the show that is put on by the Tea Party every year to support the campaign against male violence towards females. Gord played Oh Yoko by John Lennon and The Hideout by Sarah Harmer. I have the mp3s if interested (unfortunetly nothing higher quality).
