I'm surprised nobody has mentioned these explosions yet. What a tragedy and now it seems as though the Al Qaida network is responsible... this world is becoming scarier by the second..
On that note, keep an eye out for bin laden's catch, I'd say in the near future. Rumors are abundant that he was captured quite some time back, but good ol' George W. was keeping it under wraps until it gets closer to election time. News regarding bin laden has been a little more prominent lately, it wouldn't surprise me one bit...what a world....
I was kind of surprised by the election results after the bombings in Madrid. Sad but understandable. The government didn't help itself any by giving out news in dribs and drabs and announcing that ETA was immediately responsible for the attacks when any knowledgeable observer knows this was an Al-Quaida style attack.
i heard they got bin laden as well. Who really knows the truth though??

NO ONE

Yeah that sounds like something he would do. Plus I think he's probably ecstatic that Al Qaida was responsible for the attacks in Madrid. I can already picture him now saying something like " the tragic attacks in Madrid prove that we must continue our fight against terrorism and should I be re-elected I guarantee that we will find those responsible and bring them to justice...blablablablabla". :censored

I think the outcome surprised everybody, before the attacks Aznar's party was expected to win. Why do you say sad? I think Zapatero might have very good things in store for his country. Dont forget Spain has a longstanding history with socialism.
Aznar screwed up. Lying about Al Qaida involvement in last Thursday's bombings was the spark but don't forget that he involved Spain in a war the people did not want to be involved in, in the first place. This is their way of getting back at him.
I'm curious to see how the socialist party will cope and what changes they will enforce.
I think its sad because the Aznar government made a mistake in thinking ETA was involved but didnt know for sure. I dont think they could have been blamed for thinking that ETA might have been connected given that other independence groups in the Philippines, Turkey and around the globe have had connections to Al-Quiada. The Aznar government did a major whoopsie and paid the price for it.I also think its sad because given the history of left leaning political parties in Europe, the people of Spain will get their troops out like they want, but it doesnt mean they will be safer from terrorist attacks.
they found Bin Ladin in the spider hole across the way from Saddam.
