I plan on going to Bobcaygeon, hopefully in the next year. Although it's not mentioned in any song I've heard yet, I also plan a trip back to Kingston. The last time I went through there, The Hip were just forming
I always thought it would be interesting if you could figure out how far you would travel and how much it would cost to go to every location Gord's lyrics mention. Anyone have a lot of time on thier hands? lol

I've been to Buffalo and Tokyo (not Hengelo).
I've also been to the Paris of the Prairies, Toronto & Niagara Falls.
I've driven by the Golden Rim Motor Inn and briefly experienced the lull of Detroit.
I've also been to Mexico (do Mexicans dressed in beige shirts count? they're everywhere here)

Excellent topic! I have been to Toronto numerous times, Niagara Falls and my folks live in Cleveland, maybe this summer I'll have the chance to go to Chagrin Falls and look up Bill Watterson, he lives there.
ohhh I've been to Buffalo too, I should add that to my list. I'd love to see a list someday of all of the places.
I can't wait to go back to Toronto some day.

When we were in Bobcaygeon we actually walked around for shop to shop saying that we were from "music Canada" and we were doing a survey. Weasked all the shopkeepers if they knew about the song "Bobcaygeon" None of them had a clue.
It seemed funny at the time, but in hindsight it really wasnt that comical at all :?

Her family is from Losser, a town near Hengelo which is near the German border in the Netherlands.
She was buzzing when I played her the song and showed her the lyrics.
Oh, apart from this distant link, I have been nowhere (although I was born in Te Awamutu, the town mentioned in the Crowded House song . . .)
