Ok so i wasn't dreaming last time.. Brand new Tragically Hip was played during the Canucks game last night vs the San Jose Sharks.

The songs were titled..."VACCINATION SCAR" & "SUMMER IS KILLING US"

In the past another new song called "GLUE GUY" was played.

I was a lil nervous when i made a similar post after i heard the Hip during the Nashville game cause it did sound a lil out there.

But this time here is some proof .....

Check out this link to the Canucks message board. The D.J writes posts after each game detailing what he plays.

Oh yeah they both sounded awesome and rocking! The countdown is on...can you wait?

DUDE...thanks for that! I admit to being a little skeptical when i heard about it last time, but here it is in black and white! Thanks a lot, IHG...
FKNA!!

Gotta love it!!
i'm surprised the songs were played before the release of the album, maybe one song i could understand to maybe promote the first single but two, i'm shocked. Anywho, that's kool that they played them. Looks like people on the west coast have been treated to some surprises by the hip.
Very cool, I am going to email DJ Dave and see what he says.
I am really surprised the Hip would give the songs to this DJ without announcing it. I mean, I bet most of the people in the arena didn't know what they were hearing. It's not exactly a great way to get publicity, since only the hardcore faithful will recognize it! I tell ya, when I was at my last Senators game, I hardly noticed the music all the way through except for Twist My Arm...and that was only because I heard something I already recognized.
It is a little bizarre why the Hip would do this. No recognition, nor publicity. Even the means for the DJ to be enticed to play unknown Hip songs, a little weird. All I can figure is that Gord, or one of the boys, knows the DJ.
i guess i'll ask the question - does anyone have the game on tape with even a little piece of one of the songs available to be heard? im sure we would all like to hear what these songs sound like, even if its only a 6 second clip.
God I can't wait for this album to break out , i'm so full of anticipation it's killing me!!! :jump
I 2nd that emotion! (Sounds like it should be a song, HA)
Good idea about tha game!

The nucks are playing on St Louis Saturday night, i think on Hockey Night In Canada so maybe try to hear it then. I will start recording local games on sportsnet to try and snag some of the songs.

I was at the game on tuesday and didnt hear any, and i am going tonight against stl.....so lets hope they play it again.

anyways during the 3rd period they have these video hype-up-the-crowd things, one with steve nash, one with the guys from swollen members...etc. New this year they have one with the boys from das hip, which i have only seen once so far. I imagine it was filmed around the same time they did the shows in whistler....anyways all the boys in canucks gear....if i remember correctly gord is wearing the flying V jersey.
Why don't you just go up to the place where the guy who playz all the music sitz and talk to him about it,maybe see if he'll give ya a pair O headphones or something while its being played so you can get the full effect, maybe he'll accomodate you.
In order to get up to where the guy sits you unfortunately have to have a media pass.

Good idea though, how cool would that be to sit at a Canucks game (rather it be an Oilers game), strap on some headphones and listen to some new Hip!!!

Colin
I don't really want to complain here but why tell hell can't they put a new song on their website? Confusedcratch: I to really doubt that it's a great marketing strategy to put out there at a hockey game. But maybe that's not the only reason?
I don't know I just wish the fans where a little more considered. Confusedhock: I would be so excited to hear one of the new songs! God that would be nice, if they would do that! Maybe they will when the album release draws a little closer. Anyone know who in their camp would make those decisions? Would it be their manager or could one of them do it directly?
