There are a few additional Weakest Links I'm planning to run and based on a couple of suggestions, we're going to start with all third place finishers.
Vote for the song that you feel is the weakest from the third place finishers in each poll (studio albums only). After 48 hours, we will remove the songs with the most votes and move on to Round 2. In the event of a tie, both (or more) songs will be eliminated.
This round will end on Saturday at 10:22am Eastern.

Excluding 'Last American Exit', this is a very top heavy list. I love all of these songs but the first group of five bronze medalists consisting of 38 YO, LTR, Pigeon Camera, Flamenco, and Poets is much stronger than the next group of five with Stay, Good Life, NO is Beat, Kids, and the Depression Suite. I think there is a good chance that the final four will come from 90's Hip in this poll, which may or may not be the case with the silver and gold medal polls.

This will be interesting, and more difficult than voting by album as you remove the context of other tracks from the same time period.
So I guess for me it's Depression Suite, though I can truly say it's a better much song than Last American Exit, which is a bit cliché and drenched in reverb. But I think I prefer its scrappiness versus the production.
Id like to see these "best ofs" be single elimination. Thoughts?

I get that Depression Suite is a mixed bag and maybe too arty for its own good and therefore some local crazies (

That's probably a good idea. Especially when one song gets trounced and others just make it above 10%.

Last American Exit is a great song. It's the first appearance of alt-county Hip, a genre that they dipped their toes in once-in-a-while but never fully explored, much to my chagrin. However, Last American Exit smells like hot garbage compared to the rose that is "Good Life". It is clear that we will need to restrict the voting rights of members of The Tragically Hip and their immediate families in these polls. The Sinclairs have turned out in droves in an attempt to save Last American from an early exit.

Yeah it's between LTR and Scared for me. It's crazy to think those songs finished third in ANYTHING. They are two of my most favourite musical creations.
