Was surprised to see Sharks exit in Round 2 along with the less surprising departure of Train Overnight and The Bastard.
With the end of the first round we say goodbye to Wild Mountain Honey, Freak Turbulence and As I Wind Down the Pines.

Vote for the song you believe to be the weakest on Music @ Work and after 48 hours, we will remove the two songs that have the most votes. As before, a song must have at least 10% of the vote in order to be removed otherwise it will carry forward into the following round.
The poll will end Tuesday at 11:28am Eastern.
Happy voting!
Shane
It's between "Tiger" and "The Completists" for me.
The former is a worthy experiment for the band - you have to push forward, try new things - but scholastic heavy metal abstractions just aren't something I'm interested in listening to. The latter seems like it could have been something, but (as with so much of M@W) neither the lyrical theme nor the hook are strong enough to sustain lasting interest; and unlike some other doomed M@W cuts, such as "Sharks" and "Train Overnight," the musicianship is somewhat off-the-shelf. Not a terrible track, just a "meh" one that yields diminishing returns over time, to my ear anyway. I like the "YEH!" after the first chorus, however.
I voted "Tiger" because I do occasionally give "The Completists" a listen. So it wins by default.
I still can't believe Pines bowed out in round 1. I expected that song to last at least another round or two. Absolutely baffling.
As for this round, I'm gonna have to say goodbye to the Completists.
I can't believe sharks went out. You people are philistines.
Man, that's nothing...The Bear is tied for the lead in this vote so far!!!

The madness continues!

The bear narrowly missed the axe last round, a single deciding vote sent sharks packing instead.
Those voters' heats must be carmelized onions, that they can't hear that The Bear is one of the few really tight, coherent songs on the album...GRRRRR
Sad to see The Bear leading the way here after narrowly making it through the last round.
Also surprised to see Sharks go out in the last round and Pines in the first.
Have really enjoyed the discussion with these; great to see some insight into why certain songs stir something in someone and always interesting to re-listen to a song with a new focus.
Looks like Tiger may disappear in the next round; my favourite track from the album and one I'm so glad to have seen live.

Anyone got a reason I shouldn't vote for "The Completists"? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? *crickets chirping* That's what I thought. It's easily the least interesting track left on the list and that was also the case in the last round. Looks like I won't get a third chance to vote for it.

That was my vote in the last two rounds - just doesn't interest me as much as the others that remained.

It's all over for you and whatsisname,

That song is an absolute beast. First time I saw them play it live, it blew my socks off.

I loved it from the first moment I heard it - was trying to explain what it was about the song that I loved but he never quite understood.
Then, he saw the Much special and from that moment on, he felt the same.

Animal songs just aren't doing too well on this poll. Eric Burdon would disapprove
