Has there ever been one?
nope
I would want it to be like The Beatles Anthology book (and accompanying doc). Their story told through their own words using new and archival interviews. A chronological story of the band told by the band and by those close to the band (producers, managers, crew, etc). Storytelling using the Roshomon effect. I don't need some jazzed up, third-hand account of The Hip's story. I want to hear their story from their perspective.
I'm fine to hear it from the people close to them also, especially since they've been relatively media-shy of late.

Exactly. Something like the Pearl Jam Twenty book would be great as well.
There's the scrapbook I made in 2007 of pictures and lyrics.

I guess that needs to be updated.

Definitely Definitive.
Guess the best there is is the chapter in 'have not been the same'. Which told me a bunch of stuff I didn't know, which was nice.
