I just remembered I still have another gargoyle poster upstairs so I went to look at it.
It is on heavy card stock. I still do not know what screen printed really is but it is not shiny and glossy like cheap posters you would buy for $5 at a superstore. I felt the ink to see if I could feel different textures and I could not. It isvery nice quality.
YYZDave Wrote:As indicated I don't have the green gargoyle poster but from what I've seen in photos of it it looks thinner and glossy like a standard poster print so am surprised the same one also came out on thick card stock as Tthip has said and that's why I assumed this poster is $10 compared to the others. I DO have the bus and gold Kingston gargoyle posters and they are definitely printed on thicker card. Both were bought from the Canadian gift shop. I have seen thin versions of the bus poster selling on eBay but figured these weren't legit (I think the background also looked grey vs the white of the official poster) but having said that you said you got it from the official US store so would be surprised if it was a fake. I need to recheck mine now to see if my recent erroneous purchase from the US store is on thick card but I'm pretty sure it was.

At least the US store sent it in a decent tube and covered the print side in tissue paper to protect it when rolling even if it was the wrong poster, though having said that all posters have made the trans-Atlantic flight unscathed so no complaints from me. AND they refunded me for the incorrect poster they sent so now I have a second bus poster that only cost me the import duty I had to cough up to collect it. I'll bury it in a time capsule or something.

does your bus poster from the US store have a copyright tragically hip in the lower right corner? is the poster matte? I saw the gargoyle poster at the Toronto show, it was glossy and thin. I am just wondering if the original bus poster from the tour was matte or glossy. it's not that the US store poster isn't a legit poster, it is, but I am wondering if they printed a second edition from the original edition with the new copyright tragically hip printed in lower right to indicate another printing. I really wanted the original poster but the outside merch stand I went to hours before the concert started didn't have any and by the time I got into the show the lines were ridiculous, so just trying to figure out what is what so that if I do wind up buying it on ebay I am certain I am getting the original one from the show.
stock is back in....including more sizes on shirts as well as the kingston shirt

i ordered the highly expensive silhouette shirt.

wife is gonna be pissed. fuck it.....

that one's been up since the weekend (?) I believe and it was showing out of stock then. I wonder if they uploaded it by mistake.

OK, received my green gargoyle poster today and it IS on the same thick quality card as the Kingston gold gargoyle and white bus tour posters. I've gotta wonder why the hell the green gargoyle is $10 vs $30 for the other two, unless it's down to the limited numbers being produced making them rare and therefore jacking up the price, otherwise it makes no sense to me. And I'm SURE I saw/heard some of the green gargoyle posters were printed on a glossy, thinner poster paper but whether these are bootleg posters or they have started printing them on different card I have absolutely no idea. But I guess I'm pleased with the quality, though I think the image looked brighter and "popped" a little more in the images I've seen online that looked like they were thin and glossy.

We talking about the same band here? As a poster collector I am interested in finding out the answer, but doubt we ever will from the band. It would have to be fan sleuthing.

Was also blown away at the $10 price tag for the posters and fully expected them to be crap @ that price point.

Did you buy from the usa or can gift shop?
I'm still on the hunt for the Tour Bus poster at a non-eBay price. Please message me if anyone has an extra.

These are from the Canadian gift shop (@$10/poster). As good as the Kingston ones, only more colourful (and I assume less limited, though who can tell?)

As an aside the lyric T's are back in stock. Whoo-hoo! (said my bank)
Added two more shirts to the US Giftshop

Some more shirts added/refreshed in Canadian shop.
Can we please revisit the bus poster discussion for a minute. If you bought a bus poster during the tour: which show did you buy it at and which of these two is it?

Also - do you remember if there were both options of the bus poster available and what the price was (I am hearing $10 or $30)

#1 - "Canada 2016 tour" in the middle
[attachment=874]

#2 - larger border, no canada tour in the middle, copyright bottom right

Thank you
