at the end of the day, it is impossible to recreate the atmosphere of a live show on tv. as a tv viewer, we are just hoping for a reasonable hand drawn facsimile, which is what we were given... and more.
Officer's Square?
I have always thought Grand Theft Bus should be on a bill with The Hip, especially at FredRock in Fredericton.
In an odd way, I guess that dream was fulfilled Saturday.

He mixed two words in Scared -- reversed art and works -- in person, his bemused smile after that was pretty funny. Not sure if the broadcast caught it.
I have not watched the full broadcast. After living the moment, I think I'll set it aside for a few months and then watch it. I did check out the first few minutes, and it looked really good. We were pretty close to the stage, so did not get the full effect of the backstage lighting that ran along the top deck of the building. Looked great.
Remembering words has never been his forte. Last year on the FC tour where he had a teleprompter, at one show I was at he made a total mess of M@W where he made a really funny recovery.
I caught his smirk on the tv broadcast

Nope, I'm from Moncton.
ok, not the Andrewsharpe who worked for the bank? who used to live in Moncton? Then moved to Ontario?
I went down to Kingston for the show. As I have a mortgage I couldn't justify spending scalper ticket prices (even holding out at the rink to see if any last minute deal came up), so right at 8:30 I ran down to Market Square for the concert.
Aside from the fact that the band weren't physically standing next to the screen on the stage, it didn't feel too different from a festival show. In a lot of ways, it was better - not the crowd of drunken bros just there to cause problems and start fights, everyone was tuned into the music.
The broadcast was great, really did capture the feeling of the live shows I felt. And really did capture the emotion of the moment.
