Perhaps you're confusing him with Harper, who people truly want to rip at every opportunity. Sometimes deservedly so.

As long as he doesn't wander onto stage topless and photobomb the band, I have no qualms with this. And please, CBC, limit yourself to only 1 zoom-in on JT on Saturday. This night is not about him.

This. He was at the show last night I think, tho no one would have known except Gord mentioned him from the stage--no fanfare no nothing, just another fan. I got the impression the deal with Kingston is about him being a fan, but also a way to acknowledge that this is a significant national event, something momentous & meaningful for the country as a whole, so it's important that our highest elected official be there. In the way official gestures represent national respect and appreciation. It's about paying tribute to the band, to their impact & contribution.

I would never do that for fear of upsetting people on the Internet.
My online roadmap steers me to be passionate about things I love, but circumspect & careful when I'[m discussing things I dislike.
I just happen to have been listening to Flamenco for the last 6 or 7 hours: "Does it diminish your super capacity to love?...Does it exhibit your natural tendency to hate?" The best & worst of humanity is all out there for viewing in any comment section you dare to venture into. Astonishingly so.
I bet he comes out on stage at some point for the ultimate photo op.
