A friend of mine in Kingston is friends with his son, and apparently he was over there one day and my friend mentioned me (as he found a Phantom Power bowling shirt at Value Village and bought it for me). My friend *claims* Robbie didn't believe him that he was friends with the Hipbase Sean Bonner.

My friend may have been just trying to get a rise outta me. It worked.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but this is the first time anyone associated with the band's responded, even tangentially, to speculation regarding their future.

Despite the "feel" of the shows And what media has done, I have maintained from the start that no one in or with the band has said this is the end. And, given Gord, they can't well say "we plan to play more shows."

Doing what they've done is the right play. Let people spend their money on shows and merch and do what they please, but don't begrudge the band if they do spot shows here and there.

My thought has been, watch each show as if it's the last, be grateful if it's not". Perhaps they are doing the same.

Question - I remember reading back in the winter/spring that this was initially supposed to be a theatre tour. Can any one confirm this was the plan prior to the name change of the record, Gord's illness, etc? Just curious for no particular reason.

I guess it all depends on how you define "final". IMHO, I feel pretty comfortable saying this is probably the final countrywide tour.

That being said, I will not be surprised to see maybe a couple more shows here or there (of course all dependent on Gord's health), but I doubt you will be seeing anything happen outside of the Kingston/Toronto corridor. I also have a gut feeling MMP may not be the last album.

So, "final tour", yes I would buy into that. Final show or final album/song release, I don't buy into that completely.

I couldn't make it to any Downie / Sadies show on that tour.

Would love to be able to sing along with Gordie at one of those shows.
