Looking for help tracking down a show - cant find it through regular searches...
It is a benefit/fundraising show The Hip did in 1992 or 1993 at the Phoenix, Toronto. I think it was for some record exec who died from cancer.
The tickets were $100 - a ton of dough for a ticket back then - and I managed to get a pair on the day of the show - they released some - the show was mostly attended by industry types, I think
Pursuit of Happiness opened the show...
I was pressed right up at the stage. Id say it was an unforgettable show, but I forget a lot of the details!! I do remember being pretty in awe of Gordie....
If anyone knows the date of this show or the setlist it would be appreciated....
I was at this show - it was a private fundraiser for the family of Brian Eagle who was someone in the Industry. TPOH opened the show. The show was Thursday December 9 1993 at The Phoenix Concert Theatre. They played 2 songs from Day For Night that wouldn't be released for almost another year. One was Daredevil and the other was Emergency which to my knowledge is the only time it was ever played live. But I know 100% for certain that they played it at that show cause it has specifically stuck in my mind for 23 years.

Emergency.. holy shit.
I'm so glad you have this. I've been saying for years that I was at the only show they ever played Emergency at and it was from memory. This is the proof I'm not crazy. I don't know what Win is but I'm pretty sure it the other song from DfN they played was Daredevil so maybe this was an early name for the song.

'Win' is 'Win Win Situation' which would morph, change and birth into '700ft Ceiling' 3 years later.
I'm pretty sure this also puts this as the earliest live versions of Grace, Too, Nautical Disaster and Scared as well
christ, what a find
thanks!
This setlist needs to be sent to The Hip website manager to be added to the database for its historical importance

While we are all on the subject, does anyone know why this was the only time Emergency was ever played?

Cause it sounded like a pile of shit live....just kidding - I have no idea - I actually remember it being really good - good enough that I remembered it specifically being played 25 years later.
