I've decided to get a Hip related tattoo. I've had the thought of getting a tattoo in the back of my mind for years, but haven't had anything done yet. Now I'm in. It's not like I'll stop adoring this band after almost 30 years of being obsessed.
I'm thinking something on my shoulder, 2" square or so, maybe an outline of a polar bear with "The Hip" in it, a red maple leaf, a bit of lyric.... We shall see what I decide on.
Anyone else have Hip tattoos they'd like to share, or thoughts on how or what they got?
Thinking of a bird off the Yer Favorites cover on my forearm. Want to get it done in Kingston the weekend of the show. Should get on booking that!
I have a few tats but could never pull the trigger on on a specific name, words, or band. All my pieces started with an idea, sketched it out and sent it to a good artist(s) to transform it into something unique and special to me. I'm lucky to be surrounded by many talented artists so the feedback is always inspiring to say the least. At that point I would take the semi finished pieces to the ink shop to get the work done.
if detailed, go big...small, detailed tats bleed into themselves and become unrecognizable after many years
The Hip - just the words - would be kinda cool...
I have the old 90's gargoyle with Tragically Hip in scroll tattooed on my back.

I don't have any tattoos or plan on getting any but I think this work out well though.
