Curious to know what people think about future Hip releases. There has to be a sh!twhack of unreleased material. I would also venture to guess something is going in the can as we speak...
I'm saying 3 future releases of material.
Over or under?
I'm going to take a stab at under, but I hope I'm wrong
Wait, so we're including archival stuff? Of course there'll be more than 1. Live albums, outtakes, potentially one more new one....way more.
I am going to go with an over on this one.
I would almost say there is going to be a live release of this upcoming tour.
After that, I could see the "Live From The Vault" series starting back up again with many releases of the the years.
Then there is also the unreleased stuff that will probably be two or three possible albums right there.
Then do not forget the inevitable "greatest hits" that will also come out.
Maybe three is the right number for a new live album and unreleased material albums, but my gut is there will be quite a few more live albums, greatest hits albums, alternate version tracks etc.
I hope it doesn't come across as bad taste saying it, but there are 4 other members of the band. I am sure all of them will continue making music in one way or another, but chances are it will never be close to the same scale as The Hip. I hope I am wrong, but the odds are it won't be. Anyways, these guys are probably sitting on a fairly nice nest egg of material to keep them financially stable over the years. They deserve to tap into that and release it for their future as well.
can't stand the thought of someday hearing newly released material without a follow up tour

Hang hang on hang on -- you gotta set the under/over at either 2.5 or 3.5, otherwise, you're hogging the entire 3 for yourself. In any event, I'm taking over.
Not really a new album, but I'm excited for the inevitable reprinting of Day For Night and Trouble At The Henhouse on vinyl so I can actually afford them.
New material I am going under -- I think this is it.
Other stuff. I'd love to see the Live Vault revived, with shows from this tour and archives. Until Rob mentioned "phantom album" I've been under the impression there's not a lot of finished but unreleased studio work that had not made it out already. Solely based on it never really appearing, either as a "digital b-side", expanded iTunes version, soundtrack, on the FC anniversary issue in a greater quantity, etc. So maybe there is a few albums worth of material, or maybe there's works in progress that got left behind. Those things are always interesting to hardcore fans, but I consider us in the minority and maybe they were never meant to see the light of day. Wilco did a really cool vinyl box set of their odds and ends.
I would like some vinyl reissues, and I expect those will come.
I know some of the albums would have to be remastered for vinyl,
however I would love World Container on vinyl.
The art for the CD is impeccable and would look great as a vinyl sized book.

Once MMP finally arrives (should have skipped the pre-order), I'll have 7 LP's - would really love to have the complete studio collection on vinyl at so point.
