Turf just announced their next batch of artists performing.
Among them is Dwayne Gretzky who is a collective of Toronto musicians who do cover songs.
At Turf they're billed as "Dwayne Gretzky Plays The Tragically Hip".
Should be interesting!

That lineup puts CityFolk to shame.
yeah, it's a great lineup!
i've put in a solid hint to the wife that a weekend pass would make a great father's day gift!
we'll see...
the nice thing is I can take one of my son's on saturday and the other on sunday for free!
Rheostatics are playing Sunday

Yeah, I was hoping there would be some crossover, but CityFolk is a bit of a dud for me. The exception is Northcote, he's really great. Otherwise, Bluesfest and CityFest have minimal interest for me.
As much as I can't see the Hip give in to the noise insisting that they should play a huge outdoor gig, there are enough friends of the band on the TURF bill (Rheos, Sadies, Dwayne Gretzky) that it may not be outside the realm of possibility to see Gord show up to sing a couple of tunes, if he's healthy enough. Of course, this is also pure speculation and wishful thinking...
and there's still one more headliner to be announced for TURF - speculate away. I will say this...here is TURF's recent facebook post:

"TURF's next artist announce is next THR 6.23.16 @10:30a and a major major headliner is forthcoming, headlining SAT - All I can say is that these guys love TORONTO, in fact they released a live album recorded in our musical city.......??????????"

i have never seen this band before but they are on my radar
gotta say this is very tempting to go just for this show and of course the drive by truckers!
I posted another thread way back that I thought there might be a possibility that The Hip would play TURF Fest due to their ties with The Horseshoe - though what live album would they be referring to ?

Probably this one (If this is indeed The Hip):

I think it is most likely Ween as they are in Chicago at Riot Fest on the 16th which would make sense for them to play Toronto on the 17th
